Annual Indian Catholic Heritage Day to Mark Ruby Jubilee

Celebrating 40 years of gathering as one faith

Most Reverend Christopher Pierre, Papal Nuncio to the United States, will be the principal celebrant at the opening Mass at the 40th Annual Indian Catholic Heritage Day.

Other bishops who will attend include, Most Reverend John McIntyre, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia; Most Reverend Jacob Angadiath, Bishop of Syro-Malabar Diocese of Chicago; Most Reverend Philipose Mar Stephanos, Bishop of the Syro-Malankara Diocese of the United States and Canada; and Most Reverend Mathew Mar Moolakkatt, Archbishop of the Syro-Malabar Diocese of Kottayam, India.    

Organized each year by the Indian American Catholic Association of Philadelphia and local Indian Catholic communities, Indian Catholic Heritage Day celebrates the rich traditions and cultures of the Syro-Malabar, Syro-Malankara, Latin, and Knanaya communities in the greater Philadelphia region.

Indian Catholic Heritage Day will include a heritage procession, public meetings, cultural show, Indian dances, blessing of newlyweds and jubilee couples, and dinner.  All are invited to attend.
