Angela Babcock, Director of Nursing for Catholic Social Services’ Divine Providence Village, Selected As a Frontline Hero By The Philadelphia Phillies

Ms. Angela Babcock, Director of Nursing for Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s (CSS) Divine Providence Village (DPV), was recently selected by the Philadelphia Phillies to be honored as a frontline hero. Angela was selected as one of 41 honorees from a field of nearly 500 nominated frontline workers throughout the Philadelphia area.

Angela was nominated by her DPV colleagues for her compassionate care and dedication to the residents, their families, the community, and staff since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

DPV, part of The Communities of Don Guanella and Divine Providence and the Intellectual Disabilities Division of CSS, provides intermediate care for 72 individuals with developmental disabilities who live in a number of group residences on its campus.

In speaking about the nomination, Alexander Trotty, Director of Community Outreach and Engagement at DPV said, “During the past year, Angela has dedicated her life, time, energy, and knowledge to our valiant fight against COVID-19.”

Trotty continued, “Angela and her team of nurses have done a remarkable job the past year keeping our individuals and staff safe. Angela has done so much and securing the vaccine for our individuals and staff is a blessing from God. Angela took it a step further and offered the vaccine to the community. There are countless hours of scheduling, planning, communicating, and coordinating a vaccine clinic. We could not have done this without Angela.”
